Enjoyable evening attending the annual Mayor Making ceremony at #Thetford Town Council - my 15th as a Councillor! Pleased to see chris harvey elected to the role for the year ahead.

Thetford Town Council has made available £25,000 for local voluntary and community groups. 15 organisations are seeking a share of that money. The public meeting will take place on Thursday 16th May 2024, from 6.30pm in The Carnegie.

Campaigning across Iceni ward today, hoping to get Viola Ross-Smith elected to Thetford Town Council. Also reminding people to vote for Sarah Taylor in the Police and Crime Commissionaire election. Polling stations open until 10pm!

Time to revisit the Norfolk Labour proposals the Tories dismissed in February without bothering to discuss. Key worker housing and structural change to get the right staff with the right skills in the right place at the right time instead of hollow posturing.

At #Norfolk County Council Audit committee today - shocking to learn that highways related insurance claims have gone from a consistent 500 a year to around 900. Evidence of the declining state of our highways network and inflation costs reducing number of repairs carried out.
