The parents of a four-month-old baby have been jailed in connection with an investigation into the death of their son.
Reece Kelly was jailed for life & will serve a minimum of 18 years for murder & child cruelty.

Progress update for our new Rural Crime Team Cumbria Police @cumbriapcc
12 arrests &
recovery of numerous quad bikes, vans, trailers, tractor GPS units and a car, growing reassurance to rural communities and very uncertain times for contestants (thieves).

A small group of contestants (shoplifters/thieves) from the North East enthusiastically took part in a high value trolley dash across Cumbria. ‘Close but no cigar’ - all three arrested Cumbria Police @cumbriapcc c. £2k worth of property returned & vehicle seized.

This driver was stopped on the A66. They had overtaken on solid white lines, and driven at excess speed. Upon being stopped, they provided a positive indication for cannabis and were arrested. The car also had no Road Tax and was seized. 1962/2582.

Dramatic combined search and rescue of male, who had fallen into the River Gelt, safely concludes after officers from firearms and dogs Cumbria Police @cumbriapcc locate and utilise water rescue throw line, before Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service attend and do the rest.👏

The latest national 999 call answering figures have shown that Cumbria Constabulary continues to be one of the top-performing police forces for emergency call answering.

This vehicle was seen by Firearms Support Unit in Carlisle exceeding the speed limit. Driver found to be over the limit for Alcohol, Cannabis and Cocaine, as well as not holding a licence. Arrested and vehicle seized.

Today’s pacesetter meeting summary: bucket load of good arrests Cumbria Police @cumbriapcc 5 acquisitive crime nominals arrested, over £250k of drugs seized, weapons recovered. All call handling and response times above 90% & stop search up by over 450% over 16 months. Thank you!

Appalling that two of our PCSO’s who were out and about being visible in their local community had been subjected to this horrendous attack. Two dedicated staff who absolutely should not be attacked in this way. A fast response their colleagues led to a swift arrest.
