The first of our regeared Class 66 locos entered active service this week at Peak Forest in Derbyshire. 66651 (previously 66221) hauled a cargo of premium grade limestone from Tarmac’s Tunstead Quarry to Tata Chemicals Europe’s Lostock works in Northwich.

Our colleagues at Toton have started regearing ten Class 66 locomotives to give them a higher tractive effort. This will ensure they can pull some of our heavier traffic and enable us to phase out our ageing and less reliable Class 60s.

#HS2 's new facility in Quainton is expected to handle 3Mt of aggregates and take the equivalent of 300K lorry movements off roads.

The railhead will be operated by Fishbone Solutions on behalf of EKFB and trains operated by DB Cargo UK on behalf of @Hanson_UK.

Many of our DB Cargo UK colleagues are ex-service personnel and we are extremely proud of their service to our country. Today, we reverently remember the sacrifice of those who have died in that service.
