So delighted to see Swallows and House Martins return safely today. I’ve been scanning the skies for days looking for them. The House Martin whirled round above the garden and flew straight into one of the nest boxes on our house. “If you build it they will come.” #NatureIsHome 💚

Did you know that one of the most ambitious nature restoration projects in the history of the State is kicking off in Glenveagh National Park, Co. Donegal? I went to see it for myself and meet the team leading the renewal of ecological processes at landscape scale.

It will see the re-establishment of 1,000 ha of oak, holly and birch native woodland over the next 100 years, bringing wooded hillsides lush with native trees and ground flora back to Glenveagh's iconic valley, and providing valuable habitat for birds, mammals, insects and fungi.
