Resolution members play a huge role in our campaign to improve cohabitation law.Whether its writing to local MPs or parliamentary candidates, putting out press releases, writing letters to local papers,or activity on social media, its our members who amplify our voice
Interesting reflections by Jon Armstrong regarding ‘difference’ versus ‘de facto’ models of cohabitation reform (I had similar concerns). Also research by Anne Barlow et al and Bill Atkin has shown de facto reform hasn’t had a negative impact on the marriage rate in Aus/NZ
graeme fraser updates #ResConf24 on the campaign for reform of cohabitation law. There is a real optimism around the prospects for giving cohabitants greater protection and fairness.

Good to see graeme fraser ‘s summary of the FJC Annual Debate in the latest volume of Family Law LexisUK Family . Interesting comments by Graeme about likely nature of any changes if there is a change in government, linking to size of majority
Clare Lavery Andy Hayward Resolution has campaigned for years for reform to protect cohabitants. Law Commission proposed reform 2007 (but not equal rights to marriage). Current government hasn’t acted but now The Labour Party have said they will if elected. Real prospect of progress. resolution.org.uk/news/resolutio…
