Less than 3 yrs ago we advertised for a salaried GP, in a good training practice, decent salary. We had zero applicants, twice over. We now get weekly contacts from GPs asking if we have any work going. We don’t. Your inability to see a GP is no longer due to GP shortage. #teamGP

The Government wants to remove GPs from the process of issuing fit (sick) notes & says this will reduce their work. My prediction is that it will increase the work of GPs who will get endless requests for letters & medical reports from patients who have been denied a fit note.

The 2% uplift makes GP untenable. This year, many practices will be laying off staff.

They’ll struggle on, and as time passes it’ll be too much. Contracts back.

Tell me you don’t understand general practice as a GP without telling me you don’t understand general practice as a GP Lord Bethell . All we see is complexity these days with expansion of our teams with ARRS staff (as great as they are) and lack of elective hospital care access!

great to listen to but hit the spot that a study shows GPs sit for 10-12h or more a day but don’t want to take their own advice and go for a quick walk at lunch incase public think we aren’t working hard enough. I so understand this, we often feel bad all time! Why?! #teamGP

Another day in practice reissuing prescriptions due to drug shortages. My particular fav today changing a whole prescription that the patient had had to come back with because they only had 60g tubes not 30g in stock. To be clear this is not the fault of pharmacists. #teamGP
