I often think about how important trust is in a healthy community. Parents trust that teachers will keep kids safe. We trust that the people driving buses and other vehicles are well-trained. We trust that the people who build our city make it safe.

Forcing a school to disclose a student’s preferred pronouns to their parents can have serious mental health consequences, and educators will be forced to choose between risking their jobs and sending kids into a potentially abusive situation.

It’s cruel and it’s disgusting.

It’s amazing to me that the only ones talking about a strike are Lecce and the media.

Doesn’t that decision usually come from the ones actually going on strike?

It’s pretty clear that teachers want a deal that works. They’ve continued with this negotiation for over a year.

If all I cared about was salary increases, I would push for arbitration.

But I care about our kids.

I don’t want to see even more vital supports for students stripped away by this government.
