I’m going back to Albany on Monday with the voices of my neighbors ringing in my ears: we want Sammy’s Law and scramble crosswalks, we want crossing guards, and we want safe streets for our children.

More than half the children killed by reckless drivers in the past 2 years were killed in Queens. We lost two children & one adult just last week. This is an emergency.

Queens has had 18 traffic deaths so far in 2024, tied for the most dangerous year by this date (during the Vision Zero era).
