The BBC's Have I Got News For You played a 100 years old clip of an educational video on prepositions. Really interesting to see that the BBC had no time for 'pedantic grammarians' then. Quite right too!

Iā€™m fed up with people pointing out all the mistakes in my poetry so Iā€™ve written them this poem; itā€™s called ā€˜Pedantā€™sā€™.

A door blows open in your mind when you learn about the suffix -le, it explains so much. People used to add it to verbs to mean ā€˜more than onceā€™ or continuouslyā€”so originally, to ramble is to ā€˜roamā€™ on, to jostle is to joust repeatedly, and to sparkle is to emit lots of sparks.

Headline in the Sun today:

'KING FOR A DAY King Charles to let tourists inside Highland home where Queen died for first time'

Not so much a fronted adverbial, but a 'misplaced adverbial'!
