'Downpours blamed for ‘alarming’ rise in sewage spills.'

I see Scottish Water have adopted the same old lame, schoolboy excuse from south of the boarder, it's the rain, but then again it is now been run by a former executive from Anglian Water 🤣🤣🤣

Peter Hammond from your expert judgement, is Ambleside WwTW fully compliant with its permit from the data you’ve analysed ?

Just to remind everyone, the Environmental Audit Committee specified that Professor Hammonds analysis of illegality far surpassed the capacity of the Agency

Ambleside:

Prof Peter Hammond's analysis finds illegal sewage discharges since at least 2018.

United Utilities deny any illegal discharge or permit breaches' but decline to provide evidence to back that up.

Seems perfectly reasonable.

The US has set new legal PFAS limits for drinking water:

PFOA (def carcinogen): 4ng/l
PFOS (prob carcinogen): 4ng/l
PFHxS: 10ng/l
PFNA: 10ng/l
GenX chems: 10ng/l

The UK? 100ng/l as a 'guideline'. 👀

'Plans are in accordance with what customers are asking us to do'

This is misleading. This is about complying with law, not what customers are asking

Why should customers fund this AGAIN and profiteering be allowed to continue?

This is the Norton Brook meeting the Lugg near Presteigne. Taken by one of our citizen scientists on 28 March.

Lots of soil coming down the Norton Brook, with lots of bare fields upstream. 😢

England's largest natural lake, and World Heritage site, could be putting swimmer health at risk, say campaigners.

Lake Windermere’s waters are classed as “excellent” by the Environment Agency, but critics say the testing regime isn’t up to the job.
