We imaged the Sun today using the SeeStar S50! A fab bit of kit. Simple to use too. Y11 enjoyed seeing the sunspots 🌞

This doesn't replace all of our astronomy scopes, if anything it is making us use them more. This is definitely a great gateway for enthusing students. Low demand for quick photos, then onto the scopes to develop skills and precision. Alexandra Park School APS Science

We will be purchasing a second from First Light Optics next week so we can leave one doing long exposures to capture more elusive nebula, and the other doing quicker photos of the planets/moon. Best thing so far - the wireless connection can allow you to keep warm in the lab!

Chat Physics and any Physics department here! We've played with the SeeStar S50 we bought from First Light Optics for a couple weeks now and I honestly think every department in the UK should have one. Phenomenal for outreach/introduction to astronomy and so user friendly!

A year ago Bordeaux, France, began turning off 57% of the city's street lights between 1 -5 a.m. as an energy-saving measure. Despite public alarm, and rising feelings of 'insecurity', the data suggest that no significant increase in crime resulted.
