instead of domestic violence awareness round in footy why don’t we, idk, hold the laundry list of players who are accused of committing heinous crimes against women accountable for once? or we can have a themed jersey or whatever

General reminder - politicians are not your friends and should be held to account and criticised when they fall short. Doing so is not an endorsement of anyone else or another party. You should want your politicians to learn, to be better and work towards solutions.

Annabel Crabb nails it.

Anthony Albanese isn't a misogynist - he's a brittle and defensive PM who failed to grasp this wasn't about him.

What matters now is whether he and national cabinet offer some real action to address this very real crisis.

New capital funding for public schools? Great!

Except it isn't new.

Australia's 6700 public schools had to compete for $250k from a one-off $215.8m fund Labor announced in 2022.

In 2022 alone the feds gave $148m to 147 private schools in capital grants.

That's a million each.

I thought this was beautiful and terribly sad and it has done nothing to perk up my day which tbh was already a bit flat. Great cartoon from Firstdog Onthemoon.

Wait let me get this straight: 100 students were arrested because the uni claimed they had yelled “kill the Jews”. Then it turns out the student who yelled that was holding an Israeli flag, trying to unsuccessfully bait the crowd and was booed in return

At 18, my academic advisor told me that “higher education might not be for you” as I struggled my 1st year at Uni. I was determined to prove him wrong. Yesterday, this first-generation, state-schooled student graduated from Cambridge with a PhD.

State school kids, you can do it!
