Day 2 update: The 2nd quarterly meeting conducted by RWAMREC through Generation G Rwanda program was held in Murambi sector in Karongi District . The GFPs of this sector showcased their triumphs, hurdles, and plans for implementing the CSC model. Thrilled to witness local leaders' support.

Happening now: RWAMREC through the Generation G Rwanda program is convening its 2nd quarterly meeting across 5 sectors in Karongi District. The aim is to delve into the progress, challenges, and solutions of GFPs as they gather community issues through the CSC model in their communities.

Day 2 of Community Youth Forum follow-up visits was in Rwankuba sector, Karongi District

Their forum focuses on youth unemployment, preventing GBV, and understanding consent. We were impressed by the progress in their saving group and provided a guide to empower their journey.

2/2 The dedicated youths are taking ownership, and actively working to strengthen their savings group and spreading awareness about the forum's benefits. We were impressed by their achievements and provided a guide to help them continue growing.

1/2 Today marks the beginning of the Community Youth Forum follow-up in Karongi District
Our first stop was Gashali sector, where we visited the youths to discuss the progress of their savings groups and the Community youth forum's impact.

1/2 Moving on to Murambi sector our second stop on the Community Youth Forum follow-up journey, the youths actively discussed on the challenges they have faced, how they tackled them, and gave ideas on how best to approach them.

Happening this week: The Youth Gender Focal Persons (GFPs)in Karongi District are participating in a refresher training to deepen their understanding of critical topics such as gender box, GBV prevention, sexual harassment, and the importance of consent. #wearegenerationgender

3/3 The journalists and influencers also considered how these publications could have been more effective by being informative and educative while avoiding victim harm and holding perpetrators accountable.

2/3 They were given space to analyze several traditional and social media publications on sexual violence, and they highlighted some of the shortcomings in the publications, such as instances that may have reinforced violence, victim blaming, and rape justification.

1/3 Day two of the training of young journalists and influencers, we learnt how to ethically report and talk about issues around sexual harassment and violence, and the participants also understood the social responsibility they have as influential figures to the general public.
