It's ridiculous that most Democrats are just watching passively as Republicans are passing mask bans. In states where Democrats hold power, they should absolutely be passing laws that codify and protect people's rights to wear a mask.

This is a threat to disabled people everywhere. Setting a terrifying precedent for lther states. Please keep wearing masks, normalizing them, and fighting for high risk people to stay safe

High-risk people need masks so we can be out in society while protecting ourselves from life-threatening illness. I guess I won’t be traveling to or supporting businesses in any states that pass mask bans. No visits, no fieldwork, no talks, no vacation, no conferences, no money.

Disabled queer people exist— there are MANY of us, esp >4 years into an unmitigated pandemic.

Your event isn’t inclusive w/o mask requirements, virtual access, etc.

I am appalled by the actions of the University of Alberta and the Edmonton Police Service.

Using militarized police to violently attack and break up a peaceful protest goes against everyting the University is supposed to stand for.

Early this morning, the Edmonton Police used violence and force to sweep the encampments set up in support of Palestine at the U of A.

I was there yesterday. I left feeling hopeful and inspired by the young activists.

I’m disgusted and I’m angry.
