Lots of folks don’t get to coach family members, Ryan Gilleland has coached 2. His son, Beckett Gilleland is a member of this year’s team, and ‘G’s’ nephew, Jackson Cherry is a former Cavalier. Coach Gilleland talked about the experience of coaching family members

Ryan Gilleland shared his thoughts on the Cavaliers win over Brookville. Gilleland said Brookville’s Cody Bowling did good things on the mound for the Bees but the Cavaliers were opportunistic with situations later in the game.

The term “must win” isn’t uttered by Ryan Gilleland but I asked the head coach of the Cavs, how much did they need a “W” after the loss on Friday night.

Ryan Gilleland talked about a perfect storm benefitting Glass (early runs & good pitching) made it tough for a JF comeback. The game was originally supposed to be at Glass but, Coach G said location wouldn’t have mattered in this one.

Must win didn’t enter Ryan Gilleland’s mouth, but the basics (pitching, fielding & hitting) didn’t go in the Cavs favor tonight. The team that Coach loves, takes the home field again on Tuesday when they host Brookville.

The wind was bad during the interview with Ryan Gilleland, but Gilleland said your 1st loss come April 12th, probably not a sign to blow it all up. The skipper of the Cavaliers talked the positives he saw too. A 10-5 loss to E.C Glass was Friday’s result. JF back at it Tuesday
