Agree. Podcasts are nearly impossible to grow unless you have existing audience.

There's no audience discovery.

Then monetization is even harder:

- Ad rates are relatively low ($10-$50 CPM)

- Hard to drive a conversion from a podcast (CTR is much lower than email)

Good to see beehiiv improving paid subscriptions.

Subscriptions, memberships, digital products, and courses are how this platform and the companies using it will succeed.

Ads are nice, but they'll be a secondary revenue stream for most.
