This morning's PMIs suggest growth has strengthened further in the second quarter and is now around post-financial-crisis norms. This, along with signs of further wage pressures emerging from NLW, is not supportive of near-term rate cuts from Bank of England. (h/t Simon Pittaway)

New Office for National Statistics (ONS) inflation data out this morning, falling slightly less than expected to 3.2% in March, down from 3.4% in February. Falls are set to continue with a much larger fall in the next set of data taking us back to the inflation target. Short thread to follow:
