The US is exceptional in providing almost no safety net to (presumed) work-able, childless adults - 106 million people! A trio of new reports out today from The Hamilton Project at The Brookings Institution shows stunning gaps in the US safety net for non-elderly adults (age 18-64) who aren’t raising children and don’t meet the stringent criteria for federal disability benefits. 🧵
