There is money for AI but not for core GP? 🤔 What good will AI do when there won’t be any GP around? Also I’d be more worried about Pharmacy First’s contribution to antimicrobial resistance.

That still doesn’t justify a quote which any working adult in the UK would struggle to pay for. There are no extenuating circumstances that would justify charging a newly qualified young person almost £10K in insurance fees. The system is wrong and you need to change.

Young people are being royally screwed in this country! This is a car insurance quote from Aviva for my son. How on earth is this even considered a fair amount for an insurance group 14E car? Or any car. We need to be helping the youth of the nation to have a fair start in life.

How about we get shut of all the “new initiatives” “central improvements” “imposed technological “solutions”” “ ideas from people who have no idea re GP” “PCNs” and allow patients and GPs to figure out solutions. Just fund core General Practice 🙏

ARRS £is diverting much needed funding from core GP services. NHSE &the government prefer to use this for allied staff rather than employing much needed GPs. This way they can say that they have paid for x number more staff in primary care. It’s a smoke and mirrors numbers game.

This is an excellent initiative 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼. Not something that should be needed in a supposed first world country though.

The madness continues! Patient under the pain management team is asked to contact GP for pain relief! I should clarify that this patient has been under their care for sometime and has stated several times that the pain relief isn’t working. This was not a clinic encounter. But it…

Investing in General Practice makes sense.

Investing in the health of the nation makes sense.

Every £1 invested = £14 return.

Incomprehensible that they continually refuse to back GPs.

Get treated like second class citizens; having to pay huge annual sums to access healthcare; can’t bring your dependents or family over. Who wouldn’t want this? Surely there will be busloads of people wanting to avail such an excellent opportunity?

GP workforce colleagues: what is the average waiting time for CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) on the NHS in your area:

Adam Janjua Of course they are. Saw this coming a mile Off. it the makes primary care an affordable MDT GP life bundle ripe for picking off by private corps who actually stand a chance of making some kind of profit. We are not stupid. We know how this goes, we need to be vocal about it

Bearing in mind my earlier tweet it’s clear the government have no insight (or choose to ignore - take your pick) the impact on newly qualified GPs x.com/janjuaadam/sta…

This might be an unpopular opinion but the ARRS ‘funding’ mechanism is a big threat to the GP job market. I have nothing but respect for ARRS staff and the job they do, but ARRS funding is mentioned in every Government reply to anyone saying GP funding is suboptimal. They are…

Adam Janjua It’s appalling. I never had a doubt that I’d get a GP job. I was 1/4 who applied for my partnership in 2012. I can’t believe how it’s got to this point.

Adam Janjua I am concerned too, not just GP trainees about to CCT, unemployment but also underemployment for those that went for 3-4 sessions weekly and nothing to supplement their income now with paucity of locum shifts. Clear need and demand.

Over the past couple of weeks I’ve had several GP trainees come to me (in my LMC capacity) expressing real concerns and fears that they won’t be able to get a job in August when they CCT. This is a totally bonkers situation to find ourselves in. How can they fully focus on…

The only ‘winners’ here are the external consultancy firms who are minting money feeding off a perpetually (organisationally) changing NHS management landscape. When will it stop?

CCGs were told we were too weak to tackle poor performance at hospital trusts. This is why ICBs were created and yet we are still in a position where secondary care spending is bonkers with little to show for in improved performance. The common denominator here is obvious!
