8/8 Cutting taxes on work works for everyone. More growth = more jobs + higher state pensions + more money for the NHS and public services

7/8 The OBR say that the net impact of my recent fiscal events (including the NI cuts) are to get the equivalent of 250k more people into work and increase growth by 0.7% of GDP.

6/8 But how do we pay for things like the triple lock? From a growing economy - which the National Insurance cuts deliver.

5/8 Pensioners are also the biggest users of the NHS. And the Budget had significant investment in the NHS - £3.4bn enabling up to 200k extra operations and accelerating up to 130k MRI tests a year. And £2.5 billion in day to day funding.

4/8 This chart shows how much pensioner incomes have gone up, in real terms, since we've been in power

3/8 But because of the Triple Lock, the new state pension goes up by £900 this year (more than double inflation) - making it a 31% increase over this parliament and more than £2k in total

2/8 People over the state pension age BENEFIT from not paying National Insurance at all, so obviously can't benefit from a cut to a tax that's already at zero for them.

1/8 This from the Resolution Foundation has - unusually for them - some glaring omissions.

📈 89% of schools are rated good or outstanding, up from 68% under Labour.

📚 Our primary school children are now the best readers in the western world.
