The Garrick Club should now rebrand itself as the 'No Charlottes club'

'But you let in Charlotte Rampling?'
'It says no *Charlottes*, we're allowed to have one'

.Pauline McNeill brilliant on the Crown Office and the Horizon scandal just there. Absolutely brilliant. And demanded the Lord Advocate come to Holyrood to answer MSPs’ questions. I think that’s now unavoidable if Dorothy Bain KC is to retain public confidence.

McT is correct. So much Twitter blather about this — ‘Here’s why this is actually terrible for Keir Starmer… 🧵 1/93’ — but most voters will hear that a Tory MP defected to Labour because she thinks Rishi Sunak is soft on illegal immigration. That in no way hurts Starmer.

Jason Cowley hints in this review at a point not made often enough: had the clever and ruthlessly ideological John McDonnell stood for Labour leader in 2015, instead of the hopeless Jeremy Corbyn, the left might have succeeded in transforming the country. theguardian.com/books/article/…

tl;dr

> Good news for the SNP that Kate Forbes is back
> Not so good news for the opposition
> Still not clear how John Swinney will navigate continuity vs. a fresh start
> What will the new messaging be on independence?

When an SNP MP is tougher on the UK’s national security than a Tory prime minister, it says a lot about the state the Conservative government is in.

My long-standing theory of why these people love impenetrable jargon is that they know their work isn't intellectually demanding, so erect artificial barriers to entry.

Very happy for Kate Forbes on a personal level but this takes one of the SNP’s star players off the subs bench and puts her up front. That will make life more difficult for the opposition at Holyrood.

Stephen Daisley Teaching is a good pathway for STEM, with good salary increases/pension/time off/rewarding though counter balance with workload ofc... Though Australia offers great incentives for new teachers to go there...
