Joyce Carol Oates I was a kid in the 50s when her career was hot. It was different back then. Movie stars were not exposed 24/7. There were gossip mags, but we only saw them if they came to the Oscars. I didn't notice a problem until she sang 'Happy Birthday to JFK.' She died 3+ months later.

Joyce Carol Oates I'm sure I posted before, but your book was incredible. And tbh, I enjoyed the flawed Netflix film. Converting a book into a movie is not easy. There were a few choices I didn't enjoy and not the raw sex stuff which offended many. But they tried hard and I recognize the effort.
