Keswick wildfire team just returned from Surprise view. Yet again disposable BBQ quick action by the crew to extinguish it preventing any further damage.
Just look at that view. !!!

Keswick wildfire team just back from another fire caused by a discarded BBQ at Buttemere. This fire was deep seated and tied crews up for 5 hours.

Unfortunately this was the result of two disposable BBQs on the fell side.

Wildfires can spread quickly. If you light a fire in a rural area and it starts to spread, please call 999. The sooner we stop it, the better!

Looking to have dinner by the lake or river tonight? Leave the BBQ at home and take a picnic instead to reduce the risk of a wildfire. #KeepCumbriaSafe
