Thank you for being a champion on this issue! Last-mile warehouses are bringing hundreds and thousands of trucks to our neighborhoods. We need cleaner deliveries and safer streets. NYC Planning and Mayor Eric Adams, we deserve a #RightToCleanAir
MONDAY: We’re holding a rally for inclusion of last mile warehouse and facility regulation in the mayor’s #cityofyes proposal

'We're seeing a clustering of last-mile warehouses in environmental justice communities,' Garcia said. 'Folks that have to wake up and live with these facilities have no input, so we want to make sure these warehouse operators are being good neighbors.'

We could not agree more. We need the #CleanDeliveriesAct to reduce the emissions from existing e-commerce warehouses and protect New Yorkers from asthma, heart disease, dementia, and more. #RegulateBeforeItsTooLate #DeliverCleanAir
📈The results are in: warehouse pollution is rampant across NY, driving up rates of asthma, dementia, heart disease & more.
We need Sen. Mike Gianaris & Assemblymember Marcela Mitaynes' #CleanDeliveriesAct to clean up the air.

The 🚛⚡️Clean Deliveries Act ⚡️🚛 seeks to rectify this inequity by requiring the New York State Dept. of Environmental Conservation to review “indirect sources” of emissions, minimize pollution when possible, and to conduct a study of implementing low-or-zero-emission areas in impacted congestion hot spots.
Corporations like Amazon will always put profits before communities - that's why I'm introducing the Clean Deliveries Act, which would require last mile delivery warehouses to reduce greenhouse emissions under the supervision of New York State Dept. of Environmental Conservation
Sunset Park & Red Hook, like many working-class communities of color across NY, have been the sites of large last-mile warehouse facilities that send trucks out throughout our neighborhoods every day. Sen. Mike Gianaris & I have launched the Clean Deliveries Act campaign in response.
Appreciated the opportunity to testify at this important NYC Planning hearing today.
Was especially gratifying to hear Chair Dan Garodnick acknowledge the harms of last-mile facilities, which NYC-EJA, Red Hook Initiative (RHI), El Puente, & THE POINT documented vividly.
