“If you compare a mature market to a mature tree, we’re just at the trunk,” said Ali Golshan, founder of Gretel AI, a start-up that helps other companies create data sets for training their own AI. “We’re at the genesis stage of AI.”

Oh my god. 😂

GPT-4 uses the word “delve” so much because many of the RLHF’s (reinforcement learning human feedback) workers for GPT-4 were Nigerians who use the word “delve” a lot more relative to other countries.

So GPT-4 writes like an educated anglophone African.

Fascinating given that STEM achievement is such a focus. I'd expect verbal ability measures will better predict long term career success as well in general.

It is not about how good your model is, it is about how good your data is. Good data builds models, great data solves problems, creating value for organizations. Excited to see Gretel.ai synthetic dataset still trending #1 on Hugging Face with 130K+ datasets on the site 😀

Media is powerful. Chinese Americans are sharing this opening scene from 3 Body Problem on Netflix because it’s the first accurate depiction of the violence and horrors of the rise of communism that many have seen. It was even worse than this. It’s sparking a lot of dialogue.

Amazing book by some of the most brilliant thinkers in the field. It was an honor to spend time with Cass Sunstein and meet Danny Kahneman and Olivier Sibony while they were writing it.

Noise (such an honor to do this with the great Danny Kahneman; so loved working with Olivier Sibony as well).

'less than two in five (38%) are interested in becoming a people manager at their current organisation. The remainder would prefer to stay as ‘individual contributors’.

Not only this, but the US EEOC requires annual reporting on diversity. If employees don't self-identity to their employer, most HR departments make a best guess for the filing...relying on ID photos, names, schools attended, clubs and other 'signals'. It's kind of awful.
