Those following in their footsteps must be able to lead well, with conviction and compassion, and champion the voice of nursing not just for us but also for our patients.

Significant leadership changes in nursing amidst a General Election is a concern.

We need strong leadership in these areas to advocate for the value of nursing, because politicians in any party will not.

Today is the one year anniversary of the death of #CatherineKassenoff . RIP Catherine, who had an assisted death in Switzerland on May 27th, 2023. She cited her reasons as US #familycourt torture she endured. Lack of data means we don't know how many are dying due to FC globally.

listened to this exchange with a very heavy heart. I was thinking of all our brilliant internationally educated nurses whom I’ve met across England -young parents from India, Nigeria & worldwide who left young babies at home whilst they have come here to care for our citizens.

The thinking here is that fat women’s bodies evidence appetites fulfilled, and that thin women’s bodies evidence disciplined self-denial, and that heterosexuality will only reward—or perhaps can only accommodate—a femininity that’s essentially masochistic.

In retrospect, “wealthy white women will always be able to get abortions” feels like a sentence intended to convince those women to keep voting conservative.

And I know why we said it and I know what we meant. But I also know how other people heard it.

Julie S. Lalonde I also just think that people overestimate the solidarity between white men and white women.

The cruelty might be focused on the multiply marginalized, but white men have no problem with white women being collateral damage.
