Look at this photograph and remind yourself that not a single one of the students inside #Columbia_University campus has shown evidence of having any form of weapon. This is the kind of armed response I am used to seeing authoritarian states send in to crush a popular uprising.

That is *three weeks* from now. Three weeks of permanent police presence on #Columbia_University campus as a *first* step.

Don’t forget that current Columbia Journalism students are providing much of the on-the-ground reporting on #ColumbiaUniversityProtest that you’re hearing right now. For a lot of them this will be their first time covering violence. Editors, make sure you’re paying them for their work
