Nice to see our LOW episode featured in this The New York Times Albini retrospective. TWLITF is such a beautiful sounding record.

The infamous Albini 1991 Forced Exposure piece where he reviewed albums he had worked on. He completely revised his opinion of the Pixies later on, as you can hear in the Life of the Record episode on Surfer Rosa. tumblr.com/michaeldempste…

I remember that Zak and I were just giddy to get to record with him. Mim was like “ya whatever” but then they hit it off and got along like old school buddies. They both had the same dry sense of humor and would give each other shit about reverb and tooth brushing.

Absolutely gutted to hear about Steve Albini’s passing. He was such a reliable voice in the underground and his influence on music and culture is immense. R.I.P. to one of the greats.

I’ve been waiting for this for 50 years: Richard & (& by proxy) Linda speaking in depth about what is, undoubtedly, my all-time favourite album: lifeoftherecord.com/#/richard-lind…

In our latest episode, Richard Thompson Richard Thompson describes the origins of 'The Calvary Cross,' which only deepens the song's mystery.

A tremendous listen. Really illuminating - reminded me of how much I love this unique record, with lots of stuff I didn't know about (e.g Richard's skill as a self taught arranger, the use of silver bands, Linda's sanguine take on the lyrics of 'End of the Rainbow')

Big thanks to Chris Forsyth for the intro song in our Richard and Linda episode! Chris is one of my favorite guitar players out there who managers to find that sweet spot between Richard Thompson and Television. Check out his great catalog here: chrisforsyth1.bandcamp.com/music
