The crisis in Haiti grows worse by the day. Half the population needs humanitarian assistance.
But half of those in need aren’t getting it–in large part because of insecurity & insufficient funding.
My remarks to the United Nations Security Council.

UNICEF Sudan & partners delivered 500 tons of polymer, a critical supply for water treatment, to #Khartoum , #Sudan .
This supply is especially key during the coming rainy season to treat turbid water & provide children & families with access to clean water.

UNICEF & partners delivered health & nutrition supplies including #RUTF to remote areas in Central Darfur, #Sudan , which is very hard to reach amidst ongoing conflict.
Thanks to the support of USAID's Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance, 1,000 young children are being treated and saved from malnutrition
UNICEF deplores all acts of violence against children and calls for the immediate cessation of armed violence.

I was in Haiti last week. I heard horrific stories but there was hope.
The children still dream of a better future.
They want to be the doctors, nurses and entrepreneurs that Haiti needs.
They need support. Now.

Right now, humanitarian needs in Haiti are even greater than after the 2010 earthquake, far more must be done to ensure that children and families have safe and sustainable access to essential services.

I'm in Haiti to hear from children and families and our many partners about the country’s multiple crises.
Haiti is in desperate need of the world’s attention.
Together, we can do more and better to support the Haitian people.
