I held a briefing with agency officials to provide an update this afternoon. Here's what to know:

New Yorkers should return to normal activity while keeping in mind that aftershocks may be felt.

In case of an aftershock, drop to the floor, cover your head and neck, and take additional cover under a solid piece of furniture, next to an interior wall, or in a doorway.

If you are in danger, please dial 911. To report non-emergency issues please call 311. Communicate your status so others know you’re okay. Text messages are more likely to go through when phone lines are busy. Check on your neighbors if safe to do so.

Sheriff Anthony Miranda and Richmond County DA Michael McMahon joined New York City Marshal Justin Grossman in evicting an illegal unlicensed smoke shop. This was a successful collaboration of city and state agencies working with the landlord to help keep our communities safer.
