#TDIH (1992): NYPA, for the first time, sponsored alternative-fueled vehicles competing in the American Tour de Sol.

One vehicle was the Sunpacer, a solar-powered car built by students at Cato-Meridian High School in Cato, NY with technical and financial support from NYPA.

Charging into the future 🔌 Today, we unveiled 60 new electric buses that will be operating in Queens, Staten Island and Brooklyn!

With these buses, we partnered with NY Power Authority to install 17 fast charging system points at Grand Avenue Bus Depot in Queens.

It was great to be at the Grand Avenue Bus Depot in Maspeth, Queens today with MTA CEO Janno Lieber, NYCT Bus President Richard Davey, Rep. Rep. Nydia Velazquez & Queens Borough President Donovan Richards to celebrate 60 new #electricbuses for the MTA's fleet and NYPA-installed charging infrastructure.
