This week, Officers from Highway Patrol Unit #3 were out addressing motorcycle's operating in a reckless manner and at a high rate of speed. Many of these are improperly registered and not insured. Keeping the roads safe for the motoring public. #VisionZero

More illegal mopeds & unregistered/suspended vehicles were seized at Cross Bay Bridge. Make sure your vehicle is registered, insured & no forged tint exemption stickers. Also, please don’t throw garbage on your plates as a cover up! Thanks to all involved!

May is motorcycle safety awareness month. With the warmer weather & DMV deadlines, motorcycle riders are reminded to be properly licensed & registered. We are partnering with other agencies to expand motorcyclist safety & expand enforcement amidst rising motorcyclist fatalities.

Another initiative at the RFK, Willis Avenue and Third Avenue bridges yielded confiscations, from cars and trucks to motorcycles and mopeds. It is important that all vehicles and motorcycles/mopeds on the roadway are registered, insured and the motorist is licensed.

We must never forget Detective Anastasios Tsakos, who tragically lost his life while performing his duties three years ago. We pledge to honor and remember Detective Tsakos by preserving his memory, recognizing his bravery, dedication, & ultimate sacrifice.
