For Mother’s Day, we are celebrating mothers and the important role they play.

This beautiful faience bowl from Egypt, dating to the New Kingdom (ca. 1550–1070 BCE), is decorated with the head of the goddess Hathor, who is often depicted wearing a headdress with cow horns.

It’s a rosy morning in the Enid A. Haupt Garden! Rosa banksiae ‘Lutea’ is a thornless climbing rose. It has double yellow flowers that have a light fragrance. Lady Banks Rose can be found on the west side of the garden near the Smithsonian National Museum of Asian Art museum. 🌹💛
