Kids deserve to feel safe and supported, but especially at school. This legislation will help to ensure that kids remain safe from harassment, intimidation, and are able to focus on learning.

The Transit-Oriented Development Area changes will not overrule heritage status in places like Chinatown. Heritage designation can be provided under the Heritage Conservation Act, as a National Historic Site federally, or through the Local Government Act and zoning bylaw

With the language being used to slam our BC Government on the lack of housing, it's extremely disappointing that some MLAs are more committed to leaving work at 6:30pm than they are to working to solve this issue. People are counting on us, we need to do better.

I was honoured to announce the launch of Vancouver Coastal Health’s first ever DTES Youth Outreach Centre alongside Ravi Kahlon & Joan Phillip. We toured this new space & met the staff on the DTES Youth Outreach team who are set to make a big difference in the lives of youth in the community.

Our hearts are with the people, communities and First Nations adversely affected by #BCWildfire . It was a devastating evening fighting fires and working to protect people and homes, with extremely difficult and rapidly evolving conditions continuing today.

With thousands of people evacuated in the Okanagan, this travel order will help make sure we have accommodation for evacuees and emergency personnel who need it.

I'd like to thank our many project partners for coming together on such a diverse new building. I look forward to seeing the doors open on these new homes so Indigenous families, elders & individuals can stay close to their community where their families & friends surround them.

We need all levels of Gov to work together to take on the housing challenges in our communities. Major reforms are needed and we will bring in the tools that we laid out in our Home for People plan this fall.

Seniors deserve access to housing within their communities. By protecting these homes, and building new housing at a historic rate, we can help seniors and people of all ages find and keep housing.

We’ve purchased Harmony House in #VancouverChinatown because we know seniors want to live in their home community. One that serves their cultural and linguistic needs, which are so important to their happiness and well-being.

Today, BC’s newest MLAs, Joan Phillip & Ravi Parmar, were sworn in. The people of Vancouver-Mt Pleasant and Langford-Juan de Fuca have amazing advocates in the legislature. I am so proud to have them our team to build a stronger BC for everyone.

My heart goes out to the people hurt and displaced by the horrible fire in Mount Pleasant, and to the firefighter who was injured. I also thank the firefighters Vancouver Fire Rescue Services for their work rescuing people and their pets.
