Grammar School footbridge in Leics has re-opened! We raised the bridge to make room for the wires as part of our work to electrify the MML. A temporary bridge was in place during the work so children could still get to school safely

❄️ 🌨️ Winter weather can be a challenge for the railway so please check before you travel today.

Low temperatures can cause points – movable sections of track that allow trains to move from one line to another – to freeze.

Meet apprentice Orlando who works as part of the MML project commercial team.

The MML upgrade will eventually see the line from Sheffield to St Pancras electrified as new bi-mode trains are introduced, leading to faster, more reliable and greener journeys for passengers
