Introducing Sam who is an electrical and plant apprentice working on the Midland Main Line Upgrade.

After completing his PhD in physics, Sam decided he’d like a change and decided pursue a career in engineering.

Work continued over the weekend to upgrade the power supply South of Bedford.

Our OLE maintenance team replaced overhead wires and completed 12 Headspan Renewals.

These ongoing improvements will enable the new fleet of trains to run at speeds of up to 125mph.

Officers have taken part in a cable marking operation alongside Network Rail East Midlands
Using DeterTech smartwater forensic marking, officers worked alongside a crew marking the cable upon installation.
This will help deter cable theft and aid in prosecution
