With four million girls banned from education in Afghanistan, teacher Parasto Hakim tells Shelagh Fogarty about her organisation that runs secret schools.

+ Some fled to Iran & they're either being sent to Ukraine/Gaza-or gifted to taliban to be killed, some r imprisoned in 🇵🇰 bcz of visa issues, some are kidnapped/killed, some drowned on way fleeing Taliban, some r being deported to Rwanda and those still 🇦🇫begging to feed family.

Hope this be the last year our girls are out of school, & the world promoting the ideologies of replacing schools/universities.

Edu is a basic HR that is what's expected to be promoted by them.

Our children need to be in schools, Uni and in their community.

On today’s #InternationalWomensDay , I congratulate my Afghan sisters for their resilience, strength, and achievements all along.

If women are working together - united, informed, and educated – they can bring real change and prosperity.

Cooperated with female travelers post-collapse, coming to Afg.
Taliban were friendly, asking them for visas even they were nice with me (assuming I'm Arab) until I spoke Dari/Pashto-then they were trying to show (only me) the harsh Talibani attitude, pointing the guns towards me.

Manizha sediqi has been kidnapped by the taliban months ago, and now they have sentenced her to 2 yrs imprisonment-
reason being she burned the picture of the Taliban's leader.
