Today marks 70 years since Sir Roger Bannister ran the first sub-4-minute mile. Sir Roger was Master of Pembroke from 1985-1993.

Marking this anniversary, members of the Pembroke community joined today’s Community Mile, alongside celebrations within College.

Pembroke ducks: 1996 versus today! 🦆

Our resident duck has had her ducklings! But this is nothing new – we’ve had ducklings every year as far back as we can remember. Just look at these pics of the 1996 ducklings (apparently ‘don’t walk on the grass’ doesn’t apply to everyone!)

Our gratitude to Chris Thorogood for welcoming my 1st yr Biology Pembroke College Oxford Biology students into the wonderful University of Oxford Botanic Garden and Arboretum, where we discussed about plant con-/divergent evolution. What an annual treat!

Next Tuesday, Dr Jenny Mathers will open the Fulbright Seminar Series on Feminist Political Economy of War and Peace Pembroke College University of Oxford.
