Castle Hill Henge, Muir of Ord, is now the 13th green on the golf course .... I can only imagine the original neolithic builders would question it's current use as much we question their design .... ?

So many wonderful photos in this latest album by the late Bruce Adams. Most have labels, this one doesn’t - can you help identify this stone circle near Aberdeen? More 1/

An amazing carpet of Bluebells at Dùn Ollaidh. Known in Gàidhlig as Bròg na Cuthaig (the cuckoo's shoe), as the flower appears at the same time of year as the cuckoo.

Unfortunately we’ve had two recent incidents of damage at our Muir of Dinnet NNR and we're appealing to visitors to please follow the Scottish Outdoor Access Code. Thanks Police Scotland, Cairngorms National Park rangers & local land managers for swift action: orlo.uk/7XA2e

🥾Mountain paths lead us safely & sensitively into high places - but are badly eroded. With funding & land ownership loopholes to navigate, Chris Townsend reports from An Teallach where he meets those picking up the pieces.

The Gaelic for marsh marigold is lus buidhe bealltainn, meaning ‘the yellow plant of Beltane’.

In the Highlands, its flowers were put above doorways or tied to horses’ tails to ward off evil spirits during this traditional festival of fire and renewal.

Happy Beltane! 🌞
