'Suffering is not evidence that you’re broken. Remember our savior, Jesus Christ, suffered,' said @ArthurBrooks, Ph.D. '24Hon. 'If you’re suffering, that means you’re human on earth. You’re fully alive.'

'There is a group of men and women who, for 800 years, has been correcting the lies of living the good life. This is the Dominican order,' said @ArthurBrooks, Ph.D. '24Hon., author and happiness expert during #PC2024 's Commencement address.

'This school is ... the place that has enabled us to meet the people with whom we build our story. It’s the thing that we will be connected by, regardless of the time, place, or circumstances,' said #PC2024 Class President Ava Baron '24.

Earl Smith '94, Providence College Alumni president, welcomed #PC2024 to the graduate ranks.

'Please remember wherever life takes you from this day forward, you always have a home here at Providence College and you will always have Providence College alumni,' he said.

#RI Lt. Gov. Sabina Matos thanked families for sending their students to Providence College in the fall of 2020, during the uncertainty of the COVID pandemic.

'On behalf of the state of Rhode Island, I want to thank you for trusting us,' she said.

“It has been a privilege to witness your growth … both on and off campus,” Providence Mayor Brett Smiley told #PC2024 .

'Today, each of you begins a new chapter in your Providence College story,' Father Sicard, college president, told #PC2024 graduates. 'When you walk across this stage, degree in hand, you will join an alumni community strong and proud, to love and virtue sworn.'

Wanda Ingram, Ed.D. ’75, who presented the address at Friday's graduate and PC Continuing Ed Commencement, applauded the graduates' 'stupendous work.'

'Success is usually possible because of the help of others,' she said. 'There is a lot of work and sacrifice to be in these chairs.'

Kudos to Avery Budnik ’24, Isabella Fechter ’24, and Lauren Viveiros ’24!

They are the top scholars in the Class of 2024, having achieved perfect 4.0 GPAs during four years at Providence College, the equivalent of an A in every class.
