Those who have served or visited The R Mon RE (M) may recognise some of the historic bridges below. The 'Royal Mons' are the most senior Reserve Regiment in the British Army, formed in 1539. They also have Royal twice in their title - Royal Monmouthshire Royal Engineers (Militia).

Whilst some enjoy the payday weekend, others are preparing for this. As part of #IronTitan under The Iron Division, 21 Engineer Regiment Commanding_Officer 26 Engineer Regiment 28 Engr Regt (C-CBRN) 35 Engr Regt (EOD&S) 39 Engineer Regiment & The R Mon RE (M) personnel will deploy as part of the Div Engr Gp to test the full spectrum engineering.

108 (W) Fd Sqn (M), Swansea, recently expanded their physical resilience through an introduction to bouldering. The squadron looks to develop leadership and resilience further during adventurous training in August.

RE Inter-Unit Cricket Competition, the Sapper Cup, has started, RMons were drawn against 36 Engr Regt. The limited 36 overs match started with RMons batting first and setting a target of 91 all out, 36 Engr Regt were the victors when the match concluded.

Royal Monmouthshire Royal Engineers recently attested Spr Wilkinson. Having left the Regular Army at the start of the year, he has since decided to join the Army Reserve whilst working his daytime job as a service advisor for Toyata.

Ex FORT CHARD was a training weekend in Cornwall with Troops completing Battlefield Casualty Drills and Counter-Explosive Ordnance serials. Culminating in a complex troop attack on the Victorian-era fort.

225 Fd Sqn conducted a scenario based Scatmin task where Sappers opened up mobility corridors providing manoeuvre support to a Battlegroup. Along with this, Support Troop was involved in the construction of Anti-Tank Ditches utilising their heavy machinery. #SapperProud
