Today the Intermational Olympic Committee announced the names of the 36 refugee athletes who will compete in 12 sports at the Paris The Olympic Games. So, their adventure now begins, inspiring millions. We wish the Refugee Olympic Team team great success!

The Olympic Refuge Foundation met in Doha to review its work promoting sport for refugees and displaced people. Thanks to Thomas Bach and the IOC for the leadership, to Shaikh Joaan and Team Qatar 🇶🇦 for the hospitality and to my fellow board members for the strong engagement!
Today I was honoured to sign UNHCR’s new cooperation agreement with the Qatar Charity | قطر الخيرية — yet another positive step in a long standing partnership which has allowed both organizations to support refugees and displaced people in some of the most challenging crises around the world.
The official visit of Filippo Grandi to 🇶🇦, signifies appreciation for #Qatar 's leading role in supporting & enhancing the humanitarian response of UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency in different aspects.
A longstanding & productive partnership that resulted further in:

UNHCR and the Education Above All Foundation signed a new five-year agreement to support education for forcibly displaced and host community children and youth, particularly in conflict-affected countries.

Today in Doha — together with CEO Badr Mohammed Al-Meer — I renewed the cooperation agreement through which Qatar Airways provides UNHCR with important free cargo support for humanitarian goods in refugee emergencies. And we will explore new ways to strengthen our partnership.

High Commissioner Filippo Grandi signed agreement number 38 today with Qatar Charity | قطر الخيرية proud of this long term partnership. QC made the largest civil society pledge during the #GRF in December. UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency مفوضية اللاجئين في دول الخليج

Now there's a fund to help shield refugees and other displaced people from climate shocks.
