The #G7 communique falls short of meeting climate and development goals.

While we welcome the inclusion of renewable energy, energy efficiency and the target to reach 1500 GW of energy storage in the power sector by 2030, we need far more ambition to keep 1.5c in sight.

#GSR2024 illustrates the renewables investment gap.

👉Investment in renewables surged 8.1% to reach USD 623 billion in 2023, but to meet COP28 and Paris Agreement targets, we need around USD 1350 billion yearly!
