Giannis and Gobert were drafted in what was considered a weak draft. Giannis has been a Finals MVP and 2x league MVP. Gobert a 4x Defensive Player of the Year. Picked 15th and 27th respectively.

This draft doesn’t have “sure things” but that doesn’t mean it’s devoid of talent. As I stated earlier, most of these players are very raw and will take time, development, and the right situation to bring out the best in them. Fans and owners lack patience hence, weak draft.

Hard to be a FA destination when team hasn’t proven it can build and sustain a winning team. That’s part of what Winger and Dawkins are looking to do, it’s going to take time.

when you say contribute what exactly are you looking for? this team is actively rebuilding choosing to focus on development and an org culture change over winning.

Winger and Dawkins have no ties to Grunfeld/Sheppard. What was done the prior two decades before their arrival is not a barometer to what they will do. Judge their regime based on THEIR regime.

as a Wizards fan, if you are worried about fit vs best player available according to potential/ceiling in the second year of a rebuild, prepare to be disappointed in June.
