Insane! remember nearly 1/2 of Delhi lives in slums & works outdoors in informal sector. cant imagine fate of construction & daily wage laborers, sanitation workers, etc.
This is a climate emergency! Govt needs to treat this on same footing as a natural disaster!

Groups most exposed to outdoor heat stress are those without access to cooling equipment at home. Without adequate recovery at night, daytime heat stress is even more dangerous.

Any way you cut the pie, thermal injustice in India is caste injustice.

I don’t remember Delhi hitting 49.9 c in the decades I have lived in the city. Extreme heat is an equity issue because upper middle class and rich can turn to ACs and pay the electricity bills even if they need to cut down on other things. The poor can’t and they work outdoors.

The sheer amount of Chewing Tobacco surrogate ads during the world cup finals (also throughout the tournament) was nauseous. Though leaders in the oncology community need to take notice and push harder legislation. and are killers.

THIS is the famous over-regulation of pvt healthcare sector that IMA, Assn of Healthcare Providers of India(AHPI), lobby group of pvt hospitals, complains about
It's the LEAST regulated
Only 24 of 1100 pvt hospitals/nursing homes in India's capital have fire safety certificate

Researchers & funders really need to talk more about the effects of 'over-research' on people & communities in Africa. Being researched again & again (even by well-meaning researchers), without any tangible change, can bring more harm than good to people & communities.

A damning study reveals that a mere 2% wealth tax on top 0.04% of the population can generate an annual tax revenue equivalent to 2.45% of GDP. The potential revenue from this proposal is overwhelmingly large, despite sparing 99.96% of the population from any taxation burden.

Desperation to keep announcing new schemes not bothering to see if earlier, similar scheme is working
Announcing/ribbon cutting more fun
Nitty gritty of making something work is too much work?
Just like new AIIMS announcements while many barely functional
See this👇 great story
