I joined Rep. Joe Neguse and our Democratic colleagues tonight to call on Congress to protect Medicare & Social Security from the disastrous cuts proposed by House Republicans. We donât need to cut Social Security. We need to enhance it for the first time in more than 50 years!
LIVE NOW: Join me and Rep. Joe Neguse on the House floor with our Democratic colleagues to speak out against the Republican plan to slash Medicare & #SocialSecurity . We're fighting to strengthen benefits by making the wealthy pay their fair share! facebook.com/RepJohnLarson/âŠ
Today, I voted for the bipartisan #FAAReauth , securing:
âïžrecord funding for airport infrastructure improvements
đ§Żresources to end the use of PFAS foam at Bradley
đ”automatic refunds for passengers facing excessive delays
đ§łimproved access to customer service for travelers
I met with Transportation Construction Coalition during #InfrastructureWeek to discuss the importance of investing in CTâs roads, bridges, and transit. We've secured nearly $6 billion through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to rebuild and modernize our state's infrastructure & create good-paying jobs!
Social Security is the #1 program to help seniors with the costs of living.
In Tolland, I reaffirmed my support for Rep. John Larsonâs bill, Social Security 2100. The bill would improve the Cost of Living Adjustment so it reflects the inflation actually experienced by seniors.
This month marks #JewishAmericanHeritageMonth . We must continue to combat antisemitism at home and abroad and honor the contributions that Jewish Americans have made to the success of our nation.
Itâs time for Congress to act to protect and enhance #SocialSecurity for the first time in 50+ years.
While Donald Trump and Republicans push for more tax breaks for billionaires, Democrats are ready to pass Social Security 2100 to ensure our seniors can retire in dignity!
There are lots of myths about Social Security and its future. One thing is certain: Democrats are ready to protect #SocialSecurity and strengthen benefits by making the wealthy pay their fair share. Congress must act. It's long overdue.Â

Millions of seniors & families are saving on their prescription and health care costs thanks to Democrats' #InflationReductionAct . 10 million Medicare beneficiaries received free vaccines in 2023 through this law, nearly tripling the number of vaccinated seniors compared to 2021!
Today, Rep. Danny K. Davis and I called for funding to prevent the backlog for disability benefit applications from skyrocketing. If we fail to fund Social Security, 4 million Americans will be stuck waiting for critical benefits.
We need to increase funding for the SSA, not cut it!
During #NationalNursesWeek , we thank all of our nationâs nurses. We appreciate all you do to care for your patients and communities!
Many thanks to the office of Rep. John Larson for meeting with us during yesterday's #RailDay2024 . As we (okay, this tweet writer) like to say, #FreightRail puts the CONNECT in Connecticut, and robust support for infrastructure investments keeps those connections strong.
We keep hearing about how Social Security needs to be cut, but that's just not true.
If the wealthy paid their fair share we could actually afford to expand benefits. #ScrapTheCap
