All prepped and ready to go at the Royal Cornwall Show Farm and Country Discovery Days where 100’s of primary school children from across Cornwall come and learn about farming, where their food comes from and how it’s grown. 🚜🥬🥦

And away we go with #plant23 . Spring Greens being planted in some of our earliest land in Cornwall. These will be covered in netting to protect from any possible frost and pest damage. With any luck they’ll be ready to harvest by May.🚜🥬

It may well be a fool’s spring but it does make for some bloody cracking ground conditions as well as photo opportunities!! Rolling the dice and starting planting tomorrow.🤞🚜🥬

Frost risk has past for the day so it’s off with the duvets and in with the harvest teams.

Cornwall is one of the top three places in the UK for growing brassicas (vegetables in the cabbage, broccoli, kale, etc. family). In fact, over the winter pretty much every cauliflower on supermarket shelves throughout the whole country will be from Cornwall. (1/6)
