On International Workers’ Day we honour hard-working people in BC. We acknowledge the labour movement that is responsible for many of the essential rights workers have today. To all workers in BC: thank you for your dedication to building our province now and into the future.

On #InternationalWorkersDay we celebrate the victories of workers and the labour movement. Together we increased worker protections, raised minimum wage to fight inflation, and brought in paid sick days.

Thank you BC workers for your dedication to building our province.

Indigenous Peoples have been public enemy number one in much of Canadian discourse.

It’s only in the last half decade we have had a couple of political parties working to move beyond it.

But the return to it by BC United and BC Conservatives needs to be forcefully rejected.

Falcon, Rustad and every Conservative and BCUP MLA is going have to explain how having a 20 m safety zone around our schools against protests intended to intimidate kids and teachers is a bad idea. It’s happened 17 times in the last few years.

Every child deserves a school environment that is inclusive and free from intimidation and harassment.

Parents shouldn’t have to worry about adults protesting in disruptive ways on schools grounds when their kids are there to learn.
