The number of gas connections has grown from about 14 cr to nearly 33 cr in 2023 including 9.6 cr connections through #PMUjjwala Yojana. Plans underway to increase PNG connections from 25 lakhs to one crore. We want to take the share of natural gas from 6% in our economy to 15%

This will be done with an investment of about US$ 60 billion. We have 7 liquefaction plants, & are building 11 more. Our pipeline network is being expanded. We had PNG network of 14,000 km in 2014, our target is about 33,000 kms by 2030. Use of gas is being encouraged.

Continuous efforts are being made under PM Narendra Modi Ji’s leadership to make our E&P regime investor friendly and efficient. Happy to note that
Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) spud the first well under OALP regime, MNDW181H-B-1 Well in Mahanadi Basin Deepwater Block yesterday.
