Today, PA Department of Community & Economic Development and Governor Josh Shapiro announced $10.6 million in PA SITES funding, including $2.3 million going to Carrie Furnace in Rankin. This is an incredible investment in attracting businesses and delivering family-sustaining jobs in PA.

Yesterday I was proud to raise my voice for safe communities free from gun violence alongside Democrats in the House and Senate and advocates from across Pennsylvania. We have the power to end gun violence. We must bring gun safety bills to a full Senate vote. Let's get it done.

I'm delighted that this crucial piece of legislation has passed the Senate. Telemedicine is a critical element of delivering care across Pennsylvania, and I'm glad we were able to work in a bipartisan fashion to send this bill to the House.

Earlier today I had the joy of joining the American Lung Association and my dear friend Rep. Dan Frankel to champion our bill to close loopholes in the clean indoor air act. I'm so grateful for all the young people raising their voices for safe workplaces for every Pennsylvanian.

If we really want to help the people of Pennsylvania, Senator Jay Costa said, we would pass the amendments that were offered by Senator Art Haywood.

It's disappointing that our Republican colleagues did not take these measures seriously. Instead, tabling them with little discussion.

I said it and I meant it: These bills are a big deal. Our members, our constituents, our industry leaders and our researchers need time to have a good-faith discussion about them. If we are serious about moving these bills, we must be serious about bringing everyone to the table.
