It was great to be part of this important paper on the effect of recipient age on prioritisation for liver transplantation in the UK. Come for the statistical analysis, stay for the ethical reflections on taking age into account in allocation decisions. thelancet.com/journals/lanhl…

Some personal news:

I'm honoured to have been awarded a BRAID (Bridging Responsible AI Divides) Arts and Humanities Research Council fellowship to work with BBC.

For the next 18 months, I'll be working with BBCRD to address Responsible AI Literacy in Journalism.

Looking forward to working with Rhianne Jones and the BBC & BRAID teams.

Came back over to see if people are just ignoring this and carrying on here as normal, and it seems like yeah, pretty much! But if you want to get the ick off, do DM me for an invite to the other place. It’s not the same, but it’s better than living with this guy

This is not the first time our country has dealt with staggering new innovations. We have figured out how to innovate while adding guardrails before, and we can do so again.

Chairman Senator Gary Peters and Shannon Vallor discussed how we must approach the evolving AI landscape.

An exhilarating 3 weeks: the White House AI Executive Order (in response to Chairman Peters' AI laws and those he shepherded through Committee), to 4 AI Insight Forums in a week, and culminating in the Chairman's hearing this week on the philosophy of AI.
